The White Butterflies
a dozen white butterflies
flit through green leaves on the trees
the contrast of their colours
draws your eyes to them
the ballet of butterflies
floating on the summer breeze
holding my rapt attention
as I watch in awe
bright sun on green summer leaves
by turns, in shadow and light
the stark white of butterflies
enhances the scene
