The Way To Grow

There comes a time in a child's life
When we have to let them go.
We continue to care.
We are always there,
But we must allow them to grow.

As they take each faltering step
We must stand tenderly by;
And watch as they learn
With every twist and turn
As every new challenge they try.

Although our hearts may be trembling
As we feel for each pain they endure,
We can comfort and guide
But we must stand aside
To give them the room to mature.

So it is with all of us,
The children of Our Father above.
He wisely stands back,
Though our souls nothing lack.
They expand in the fullness of LOVE.

I love the parallel you made between a parent's relationship to their children and the way our heavenly Father loves us.

How true Sylvia! Many parents have their children growing physically without growing emotionally and spiritually. There comes a time when parents have to take on the role of the observer and allow their children to make their own judgment. Well penned!
