The Tarnished Prize of Peace

Tarnished now The Nobel Prize of Peace: A shadow of its former self. It succours sadness and willful disbelief, When given to the truly undeserving. I anguish for those languishing in jail, Who've strived for justice and for freedom. Their courage is a sentinel of light Against the backdrop of dictarships deplored. Tarnished prize, who now can comprehend, The diminished status you have now acquired? Disgraced, where once true recognition To those who had suffered much for Peace's cause.

Tough stance..perhaps it was thought that the coming to prominance of someone of mixed faith and mixed race could be the coming of age of humanity.. perhaps it's a baby step BUT it's a step in the right direction a step in the direction of acceptance of all and therefore..in the direction of peace. OK I'd have given it to the Dali Lama BUT folks could agrue that one too! Light & Love
