The Struggle Within A lonely heart sits and waits Seconds tick and time abates Each day passes in s blink All i do is sit and think Of all the things i could have done Away from life i tried to run Knowing there is sunshine around the bend Waiting for my soul to mend Never giving up the hope Fighting against the slippery slope My footing stumbles The mountain crumbles Trying to knock me down Each step i take toward the top Something my path does block Struggling to push on Knowing that my heart is strong I see the light up ahead Less struggle to get out of bed Faith around the corner lies A new tomorrow, brighter skies The goal i seek is now insight Push the sadness from my mind Dropping now the ties that bind My heart is lighter Inside my soul sparks a fire Leaving behind the words of a liar My life is my own I’ve fought long and hard Finally time for my journey to start
