The Secret of the Moon
The Secret Of The Moon
The Moon sets in the west
Sinking below a distant horizon
Does she see the Moon rising in the east
Could there be a second in time
A second where we both look upon the same Moon
So far away her eyes look at the lonely sphere
Does she know the tears I shed looking at it
Dreaming that she is looking into her eyes
I may never know
The Moon is a silent mistress
Keeping her secrets from mortal man
Even the one of a woman's love
Yet, every night I will watch her float across the sky
I will dream that she is doing the same
While thinking of me, my heart and my love
That is the only wish I make under the light of the Moon
Maybe someday it will come true and she will see my love
The Moon with a secret that she may wish to share
And all will be made good under the gray light
And she will smile at the Moon and thank her
