THE ROOM REVISITED Eye of the cobweb In my self-imposed room I’m thinking Thinking there is a world out there – To the perimeters and All between – A world of living creatures Creatures whose complete concern is Survival In my comfy room Eye of the cobweb I fancy them Cute Or beautiful Or ugly Furry Slimy Whatever They are alive! All, essentially, the same Whose complete concern is Survival All competitors All predators Eye of the cobweb In my room revisited I’m thinking In reality There is no “thing” about them Cute Beautiful Ugly Furry Or slimy They are alive! All brothers Caught up in this spinning, cruel world together Eye of the cobweb In my room revisited I’m shedding tears
