The Road To Your House

Traced backwards through dreams gone— Saw a cobblestone path creasing palm of land Slowly, images ripened beneath memory’s dawn Faded, pattering feet stroking stone into sand. 2010.10. NOTICE: I'd like hard-core critiques, please!

Hard core critique from someone who adores your poetry, I would have just made it longer, I love nostalgic toned words and you had me strolling down memory lane with you, then it was over, maybe that's the point, well done! Just write more, that's my critique, I love reading it.

Grace,I see you have been gone from Soup for a long time now. I am revisiting people on my fave list and wondering what happened with you. I see you left a beautiful poem at the end here. You wanted hard core critique. All I can say is that I love how it sounds. The one word I was not too crazy about was "stroking" since I don't think of feet as doing a stroking motion. the other lines I LOVE.

Hi Grace.I find sometimes poets create something personal to them. And it is not always necessary to understand what is on their mind to recognise someone is capable of writing good poetry. If we the reader get something from it.If it arouses emotion, evokes memories, touches us in some way as this does it gives us pleasure. This is not nonesense it is a conveyance of your thoughts and feelings and contains it's own beauty that I can see and appreciate and it gives me pleasure to read it.Love June(S)
