The Power of Hope

I'm climbing the mountain it's cold and wet, with no companion I'm not completely set. It's steep but I'm anxious to get up there, I hear the scenery is beautiful and rare. Step by step I make my way up, I take the last sip from the plastic cup. My foot slips and I land with a thud, now my leg is gushing with blood. It was dripping down, the sound of rainfall, my leg is oh so very painful. I seek shelter in a nearby hut, it's getting worse and worse this aching cut. It's getting dark, the sky starts to dim, I walk through the hut with my broken limb. I lay on the cold damp floor, no windows, a straw wall and half a door. The roars of the thunder outside scare, I almost feel like I'm trapped in a nightmare. I sit in the tiny corner and mope, all I can do now is pray and hope. The grumbles of the storm get more and more worse, with my broken leg all I wish for is a nurse. In my heart I know rescue will come, but in the meantime for comfort, I suck my thumb. The morning arrives, my instinct tells me I will survive. I don't believe it, Could it be?! The sounds of a helicopter come to rescue me.
