The Porch's Edge
Walking by my porch’s side
I remembered when I was a child
I remembered trying to balance myself
While walking along the porch’s edge; without any help
It took a lot of perseverance, for I fell down a lot
But, I never gave up; trying to reach the end of the plot
Day after day I continued to try
Until one day, I had my smile touch the sky
…I did it…
And for a child, that was an amazing prize
Here I am, standing on the porch’s edge
Balancing my life on what’s right
Holding on to perseverance’s pledge
As I strive towards the roads of life
