The Narrow View
The world is flat I know tis true,
For from my window I have a view.
And what more could I want to see,
Beyond the yard in front of me?
There is no need to the left to look,
No need to view a babbling brook.
Why would I ever turn to the right,
And bring a garden into my sight?
No, the view I have is all I need,
I don’t care how much you beg and plead.
All I need is as I’ve said,
Is to view my world straight ahead.
Then all I see will comfort me,
And I’ll never view it disappointedly.
