The Mystery Beyond This Lonely Shore
Many starry evenings I have sat on sand and started dreaming,
sighing and making wishes unable to unfold the mystery
beyond this bright and quite shore...I awaited another morning
which would dazzle on the rolling waves of the sapphire sea!
When I cross the channel under that bridge, I hope that my sails
will be pushed forward by a benevolent wind that won't cease;
sail away beautiful ship following the seagulls long trail:
let me inhale the salty breeze and be awaken by its chill!
What will I discover, if not the mystery beyond this lonely shore?
They already have discovered everything the eyes can see;
perhaps there's a splendid Paradise they haven't imagined like me
who has looked everywhere...never thinking it was already there!
perhaps an earthly Paradise the one they have not,
but History won't remember me for my insignificant discovery!
