The Love of Lady Earth

The sun looked down one day And saw a frozen Lady Earth beneath him lay The sparkling stars hanging all around A dazzling glow on her face found He gazed down with love in his eyes And willed the vivid life in Lady Earth to rise Soon she awoke to springtime’s mystical show The winding river, a poetry in flow Flowers and blossoms perfumed the sweet air As she stretched her green arms in prayer The loving gaze of sun poured over her heart This rose in myriad hues, a perfect art He saw her breast foam and heave and swell And felt the thunder sob around the knell And when he was sure that she will for him live And for his warmth and love will always strive He let mysterious wind move over her lands And out sprung many human bands And slowly her children, the hungry people Used fire to cause many a ripple And Lady Earth a fragile shadow of her former self Looked wistfully towards the sun remembering herself 26/4/13
