The Lonely Shore
Down by the lonely shore
Beside the twisted tree
In the wake of a storm
Forming in the darkened sea
By the salty shore
I sit in silence
Wishing I knew more
as it gathered its violence
Jagged rocks edge the sad sea
Like teeth of a beast waiting for me
This is a hungry sea
But I will not indulge its hunger
For its murky depths hold
Secrets cold
Secrets centuries old
The storm's madness is coming
In wrathful packs
I see it at last
The eye of madness, the hurricane
Evokes sadness, all the while it came
I stand and watch this hollow storm unfold
And run home from the lonely shore
Holding secrets centuries old
