The Library
I'm not a great lover of Saturday
there's never a great deal to do,
Just shopping or maybe the library
providing I've got a book due,
I spend a long time in the library
I like the smell of the books,
A library's a great place for learning
and to hide from the staff in the nooks.
I really like the library
the library's a place to hide out.
A place of peace and tranquility
with knowledge just floating around.
The staff are learned and friendly
and give you advice straight away,
On what books are good and worth reading
and which ones will lead you astray,
There's not enough hours of daylight
to read everything I would like,
The staff won't let me work quicker
by scanning the shelves on a bike,
Reading is just so important
a fantasy world in the mind,
A hobby that's well worth the effort
and a very nice way to unwind.
