The Key

To myself I murmer, whispering, murmering I get down on my knees Murmering, whispering and murmering Amidst these tall lush green trees I softly say to myself in a low tone again who will care for the fallen?, who will share the blame? Why do I look outward to blame? Why don’t I try and understand the game? Why don’t I look inward to within me? Why do I look for the reason to flee? Why do I look forward reason here and there? Why don’t I try to look within myself with care? Why don’t I try to open my mind’s eye? Why don’t I take it head on and not be sly? As I remain on my knees on the grass Thoughts flood my mind without much farse It is me and myself only That will and can help me solely So as I am down on my knees I will from now on look inward to find the key
