The Immortal Man
Tomorrow you may die
but the part of you that does not die
the immortal part what of that
he who knows our thoughts
will he not hear our words
You who have the gift of life
you who have the gift of love
and by Gods grace grant me the best of all gifts
the gift of a merciful death
eternal penance be my comfort
Let mortal fools live in a wicked world
faith is a lie and heaven a deception
a man might have immortal life and wander
for all the generations of man till reaching the edge of doomsday
let me find harbour to see again with longing the lives of those who grow old and die
Of those who die
