The First Easter Son Rise
THE FIRST EASTER “SON” RISE
On that first Easter morning
Before the break of day
Mary visited the tomb of the Savior
But the stone was rolled away
Going in, she did not find Him
Instead, two men who said,
Why seek you the living
Here among the dead?
He's not here, for He has risen
Come see the place He laid
Go tell Peter and the disciples
But do not be afraid
Peter and the disciple Jesus loved
Went to the tomb to see
But they found that it was empty
And wondered how this could be
Then recalling what Jesus told them
They knew they weren't deceived
Their eyes had now been opened
And both of them believed
So on this Easter morning
Like the one so long ago
May you “see” the Risen Savior
And then you too will know
The joy that comes from seeing
That the Son did rise indeed
And from the right hand of the Father
He'll supply our every need
And soon, He will be coming
For all the world to see
Yes, the King will be returning
Praise God, He's coming for me
