The Eternal Soul
I fell asleep in a dream
Only to awake in a nightmare
For the dream would not end
And the nightmare was only beginning
As I gripped the bars of my prison wall
Inside my mind
I begged the guards, keep me here
But let the sadness out
My screams were unheeded
My torments unleashed new fears
As I fell asleep in the dream of a dream
My heart stopped
Cold as the arctic winds, cold as dry ice
My veins became the road map of eternity
Where I now reside
unconscious yet alive
My eyes stare to nothing
The heavens stare back
I am lost
To all
I am lost
In a dream
