The Essence of Acceptance
Girls,
Why do we feel the need to dress to impress?
Desperation to cover spots that break out due to stress,
Over advertise our behinds and flaunt our breasts,
Chasing after boys, like bipolar pests!
Doing things like we’re “all grown up”,
Totally obsessed with hair and make up.
And answer me now, are you content?
Are there not better ways that your time can be spent?
Because you are young and you are beautiful,
Don’t let your insecurity be your main downfall,
Because it’s not worth it,
Watching your life flash before you in a minute.
Who cares if your chest is too small?
Or if you feel you’re too tall?
If your hips are too wide?
Or if its your face you want to hide?
Close that magazine that is denying your beauty,
Smash that mirror that is encouraging your vanity.
Don’t be influenced by perfection,
Accepting yourself will give you that satisfaction,
Acknowledge your flaws and love who you are,
Then beauty from within will radiate so far.
