The Elusive Unicorn
Have you ever seen a unicorn?
They live in some exotic places.
An equine species with just one horn,
They like more isolated spaces,
And you will never see their faces.
Though for many years he has been sought,
He is under a magician’s spell.
It’s protecting him from being caught.
And that I surmise is just as well.
Touch him and you die, I have heard tell.
I have longed to see a unicorn.
I think I have seen one in my dreams
Or before the day that I was born.
He evades all of the trapper’s schemes,
He is fairy like, or so it seems.
If you would like just a glimpse of him,
Don’t rush in, as have more foolish men.
Try it just before the light goes dim.
They will gather for their dancing then
Into groups of three or five or ten.
