The Dove's Softly Cooing
The Dove's softly cooing early this morn
Crickets their love songs tenderly singing
While the sun rest behind clouds newborn
The Dove's softly cooing
Out on the porch in a chair well-worn
The cat lies content at peace just resting
Soon the birds of summer will be airborne
She'll not find any birds then nesting
Some will leave only to be seen next spring
In the moment pleasure comes from sounds newborn
The Dove's softly cooing
There is a powerful bit of difference in having to write something
And having something to write..
