The Distance
We can't see the future, we don't know what comes,
We'll always be soul mates, lovers, and chums.
But we'll never change, or in other words,
From beginning to end we're a couple of nerds.
I am not perfections, my edges are rough,
But the look in your eyes says I'm more than enough.
All of the things you see in me, perplex me,
But only with you is when I feel sexy.
When things go rough and I think you'll leave,
You calm me down, and help me breathe.
You comfort me 'til tears have dried from my eyes,
Sometimes 'til we wish goodnight to the sunrise.
We are passion, so sinful, burning with lust,
We're devotion, tenderness, rapture, and trust.
We're stronger than ignorant banter and talk,
Birds of two feathers, but together we flock.
So fly in my window, come land in my bed,
We'll nest in the covers, my lips pressed to your head.
Between us, no walls, no more resistance.
No matter how far, we'll go the distance.
