The Consuming Foe

Adamu is missing here He went a road all mortals go Silence grace the missing space Igniting our heart throb Unhurriedly death dragged air Out of his craving nostrils Leaving a speechless mould For he tested positive He had the consuming virus. See Adamu, Stiff, benumbed and deaf to comrade's call Flying into a plane From which no man has returned Rickety old Mr. Death Conquered this promising child Death has debased his proud heart This poem is fiction.

I see you added the note fiction maybe from people asking you about it. It's VERY good writing about a child and how sad it is when one is taken because of aids and I know it's much more prevalent in some areas of the world than in others. A horrible thing and I hope one day the world can be rid of this virus!

Sad story of a child that died of Hiv/AIDS. Beautifully crafted! You are very good in story telling. *Cheers*
