The Circus

tigers dashing, fliers clashing, look the man, but what is he?

sitting down on a stump, this man was round and fairly plump, his eyes were dark and
menacing, his laugh was cold and chilling, he talks but his words slur in my sight, he
walks but his movement is too much might

the giggles come from the crowd, while the man lays down, the happy and excited faces,
overrule what is being done, a clown with an axe, crawls his way through, slithering and
sneeking, past the pie throws, pushing and shoving till he gets where he goes, then the
clown came to a stop, looking at everyone, then at the man laying on the ground, but what
is he doing, this evil clown?

then everything went slow to my senses, the clown laughed and said there's no expenses,
then at an alarming rate he raised the axe, just above the man, and that's when i knew i
had to do something, get out there and scream, or anything to help, this man couldn't be
killed, i wouldn't let this, i stood up and some people turned to me, i yelled to the clown
to stop, and he turned to me with a scary glare, then dropped the axe, in midair...

the whole crowd turned and looked at me, their faces were mad or was it angry, but why oh
why, do they want to do this, even if the man on the ground was bad, a robber, murderer,
or something worse, but still he deserves no punishment like this, and before i knew it, i
was striding down the stairs, walking to this man laying there....

the clown moved away from me, as if we were two magnets that didn't connect, then i saw
the man on the ground up close, he was not a real man, he was half dog, his bare shoulder
showed traces of fur, and his face showed a dog's true description, his tail was long and
black, his hands were paws, and his life was flat, he was not human, he was a something
else but what...

still i couldn't let him get hurt, i helped the man up, and looked at the clown, tried to
make my face scary, worn down, then with a blur i ran out to the night, and everything
went right, we stopped at a large tree, with nothing around, we were alone, this could be
it, i thought, and sat down, i ruined my life in that town, then i remembered what i was
thinking, was he a man who killed, and slowly i looked up, i met his stare and kept there,
we were dead locked on, then he crouched and was now right in front of me, his teeth were
jagged and showing, then before i knew it, he leaned in closer, and kissed me, and i knew
right then and there, i was safe with him here...
