The Best of Friends

We held it all together. We weathered all the storms. When life was so against us, We had each other’s arms. We helped each other through bad times --- And laughed our way through some. We loved away some troubles When we had no place to run. We should not ask for more, Nor be content with less. So, I suppose that we must do What puts our minds to rest. And could we do it one more time I hope you will agree -- The happiness we shared Is more than most will see. Whenever we seemed destined To go our separate ways, We always turned ourselves around And returned to better days. So, all in all, I do believe Wherever this all ends, The least that we will say is -- We're still the best of friends.
