take the time

this trail. as i walk
reminds me of life's paths
so many choices
which way do i go
i see the people
those that pass before me
those behind
as they come and go
with hurried hellos
i stop and watch
the ebb and flow
of the stream
it's just a slow trickle
but i hear it
whisper over the rocks
i look at the trees
with upturned roots
it's hard to believe
they played "london bridges"
and all fell down
beneath its fury
when the sky cried
not so long ago
the birds sign in harmony
little locusts chime in
with back-up vocals
as the butterflies
dance gracefully
atop wild flowers
yet no one sees
except for i

thank you...I love walking on the trail...even as a child I always liked to sit beneath the trees and watch nature... well except for the bugs, they always scare me...

If you take the time, yes :) Lovely one, sweet Sandra. It seems that way, doesn't it?

we have nature trails near me, and I can walk them for hours and find a place and sit, often taking my camera to snap some shots of nature...everyone on them will pass and say hi, but they run, ride bike, ignore the beauty... thanks for reading...I jotted this down on my walk :)
