Symphony Storm

A storm begins the performance Ominous clouds Prepare the stage Lighting streaks the sky Setting the ambiance Each small drop Begins a new note Wind blows the trees Like strings in an orchestra Frogs voice A choir to the show Thunder clashing As the background percussion As the sun breaks The tempo slows With clearing skies The performers take their bows And nature's awe-struck audience Will return again

I LOVE IT! It reminded me so much of Richard Strauss' Eine Alpensinfonie. It's a symphonic tone poem, so musically descriptive, of a journey to the top of a mountain and down the other side. On the way down, all hell breaks loose as there's this massive storm. Strauss uses FULL instrumentation, including a man hurling himself against sheets of aluminum to simulate the thunder! Well done Jillian!! Best wishes, Keith
