Sunset Musing
loneliness led my steps to the drifting river . . .
and her echoing verge
and I lingered there pondering, contemplating
until the glorious sun rested on a whispering wave . . .
pure gold and motionless and tranquil
it hung there hesitating, so reluctant it seemed
among streaked mauve feathery clouds . . .
the golden sphere seemed to float on the rolling water
oh, how beautiful was the eventide
as I stood and mused my life, my journey thus far . . .
the flaming orb sank sweetly into the azure blue
and silently gone was the hushed dusk
