Summer's End

One last trip to the ocean shore One last stroll along the beach One last sunset of red skies galore Now, that summer’s end we reach One last trip to the ice cream stand One last hammock filled nap One last serenade by the outdoor band Now, that summer has made her final lap One last night sleeping under the stars One last boardwalk bicycle ride One last time with the roof down on the cars Now, that summer has bid goodbye It has been so nice to see you again, my friend I am always sorry when summer reaches her end Written and posted on 8/24/2013 for Francine's Summer's End Contest.

I found this to be sad too. :( Although living in Florida I am always glad to see summer end, this filled me with melancholy. Great work.
