Struggles

As I struggle with thoughts about life, I pack up Christmas items: (1) Removed Christmas China decorated with holly (2) Stacked up those gold charger plates now no party (3) Bagged up the centerpiece, removed green candles (4) Things beginning to look in shambles (5) Check those Christmas placemats (6) Clean spots can tell we are not aristocrats (7) Fold pine green Damask Tablecloth (8) The naked table stands like a Behemoth_ Well, in my old age I am beginning to match the table..

it takes a womans heart to know when to bring them out and a womans mind to know when to take them in.

A great write Sara. It happens so on every festive occasion. Sara, I am invited to an International Seminar on Literature by the Pakistan Academy of Letters proposed to be held on January,9, 10 and 11. They asked me to propose some names from USA too. My thought went to you. Will you be able to participate, if invited? They will pay for accommodation for three nights, transport and food in Islmabad plus US$100/- towards incidentals. Airfare to Islamabad is on participant's account. Pl. advise

This is a very clever write my friend! I liked your list of things being packed away! It's always sad this time of the year when Christmas things get put away! I always do hate it when Christmas ends! But it always has to, and your poem brings the sadness to light! Oh, and I doubt you are matching the table's dreariness! I'm sure you aren't very old my friend! This is a fantastic poem Sara! I really enjoyed reading this delightful piece this evening! Great Work!!
