Stormy Night

Rain falling to the ground
Silent whispers all around
Pitter patter, pitter patter
Rain is falling all around
Warm and toasty by the fire
Sipping cocoa on the floor
Crickel crack, crickel crack
Cuddled next to the fire
Is the mother and her daughter
Crash BOOM lighting strikes
The girl is counting,
As her mother holds her tight
Soon the storm will pass
The sun will break the morning sky
Sleeping quietly next to burned out ashes
The mother and her Daughter

Hello Sarah...It's nice to meet you, and what a great father/daughter team to have on Poetry Soup!! You are a welcome additition to our circle of friends here. This was a lovely poem....I can picture my daughter and myself curled up together during a storm and after. I think all mothers and daughters should be so lucky as to survive their storms together! As I've told your Dad....I'm here in No. Calif., somewhere not far from where he lives. Are you my neighbor also?? .Keep writing! Carrie
