Splendor

In the dawn of our life when splendor began And our fears were not yet known; We walked with a love that came from within In a wonderful world of our own. Then came a time when love became fickle Shame grew with a strength we never knew; And the love we cherished began to fade away Grief and sorrow began to hold true. The love we had became harder to hold What little could be found from the start; If we could go back to when splendor began To keep the love glow we had in the heart. *A collaboration with my friend Dan Kearley!*

While reading and thinking on this brilliant piece of beauty I was swept away in that remote era of the dawn of life for few moments Elizabeth. When love was in its pure form without fear and motives. You reminded me the forgotten Poetry of my late father too, who long back wrote on this theme a long verse. Both of you have painted a matchless beauty in these few lines. It is going to be a fav. Poem of mine. Love and best wishes..Ravindra

Did you trade verses? However you did it, this is a seamless piece of poetry, with a happy beginning, a sorrowful middle, and a conclusion that holds out hope. Well done, Lizzie! :) (In case you hadn't noticed, this is my 'Elizabeth Day!')

A very inspiring and captivating read and so very true. Sometimes, we need to go back and find that special space of reminiscing splendor where our roots bagan. So very true Lizzie and so beautifully delivered.

Wonderful what children have - imagination and expectation. Everything is new and big, either joyful or sad. Sometimes I think we're just a bunch of computers and I wish the memory would be disconnected at times, that everything would remain in, as you say, "Splendor." Fine work. Love, daver

Withering away with the new born day. A beautiful blossom of love that would not stay. And lying in the garden of blissful sweet romance. Are the remnants of two lonely souls who never had a chance.
