Sonata of the Stars
Minutes to complete chaos,
seasons of war undeterred.
Rainless countries that remain,
tormented by that one word.
Bursting warheads on high,
nuclear filth pollutes the air.
Smoking bodies inside mirrors,
soldiers that share a prayer.
The blood it pours slowly,
over shifting cliffs unbroken.
Children marching into flames,
from fascists that have spoken.
Handcuffed rallies never tame,
sticks and stones for evermore.
Breaking bones with each phrase,
for extreme violence they adore.
Lists of treason and obedience,
tongues that kings would lose.
Heartfelt sonnets from a poet,
whose sentences he did choose.
One final second to madness,
enters a melodious sweet release.
Musical brilliance from oblivion,
soaring on the wings of peace.
