Something About Water

Something about water: Ancient and ageless The precise quantity since the dawn of creation (Give or take a few space missions) Partnered with Sister Sun and Brother Moon Constantly recycling and returning Gently raining down upon us yet rising up in outrage and fury Flooding the hapless, helpless land Destroying our false idols Obliterating our arrogant Towers of Babel Washing away our filth Reminding us who is in control... Something about water: Quenching my thirst Pulsing in my veins Showering me; anointing me Cleansing me... Busting forth and gushing from my eyes Washing away my sins Cleansing me...

I like how you repeated the cleansing me line, showing how important that is to you. What a captivating poem, Tim. It really showcases your talent with poetry.

I am with you on this one.. I am dangerous... but when it comes to water.. I'm not ready for the cleansing of "ME".. lol..kidding. Tim, i like the go go in your poem. Water is very refreshing for many reasons. I like the ones you jotted down on this verse. I really need a lake about now. Maybe I do not need to carry all these sins with me. ((surprise!!))... I'm not innocent. ;-)... However I love your serious poem. always& forever the Texas She-Tasmanian Poet.

I'm adding this poem to my favourites. And I am adding YOU to my favourite poets list! You wrote this poem masterfully. It really is so strange to think about the fact that water literally keeps us alive, yet so easily destroys us. Fantastic "thinking" poem, my friend!
