Sleeping with the Devil

A partial smile and avoided touches…I never seem to give it much thought?

A pierced through stare as if I weren’t their…I never seem to give it much thought?

A casual hug every now and then, not one passionate one do I ever recall that I we have ever shared… yet I never seemed to ever give it much thought?

A word most people seemed to use when they’re in love without giving it much thought,

that simple little word we all call love…rarely had I ever heard her say it in our ten years plus together? No I never did I ever seem to give it much thought?

I guess sometimes when you think you’re in love…it is impossible to ever be able to believe that you might be sleeping with the Devil and not know?
