Serenity Response

Year 1983 Lord You gifted me a special child I thought then, he was a penalty Now I realized, he is an earth angel A priceless present from heaven. He has cerebral palsy, total blindness and quadriplegics I can’t replace his erratic muscles I can’t give light in his eyes I can’t change his feet. I can’t modify his physical condition. Listen to my heart Oh Lord I am your humble servant You make miracles I don’t pray for miracles now I supplicate for continuous strength! “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change”

This is very powerful, and quite moving. May I yet be as humble and serve him with as much fervor as this, thank you for an inspirational piece and congratulations on your win!

When I think that life is hard, I will have to think of you..Very expressive and emotive work..It reminds me of my father who prayed for strength each day and sometimes several times a day..Congrats on your expressive and emotive work..Sara

wow, Dalila, this is a heartbreaker. I don't know if I would have it in me to tolerate such a situation as yours. I know I would do it but I don't know if my spirit could ever accept all the trials it would bring. You are amazing to be dealing with this with "serenity" and I think this poem should top the charts! (he must be a darling angel)
