Second Chances

I once had a lover who was like no other with eyes so brown and a smile in which you could drown for a year she had my heart so strong then things began to go terribly wrong A beer here, and several there, the more she drank the less she cared so I decided I'd play along and drink beside her all day and all night it just didn't matter The beautiful love we used to share just got up one day and went somewhere I lost the love I thought was forever for all we did was fight and hurt each other Then I woke up and my lover was gone leaving me to wonder what went so wrong we had become drunken and so mean and the love we had could no longer be seen Then came that fateful day something was wrong, I knew right away my precious love was almost gone I found her in the place I had once been she needed help so I took her back in I'm told that day that I saved her life It wasn't me but angels on high my prayers have been answered I have my love back again no more are we drunkards as we work soberly thru the pain So no matter how bad things might seem we all have our angels to intervene always remember to look up above for God is full of undying love He can help us through anything drinking, depression, suicidal dances I thank God up in Heaven that He gives second chances for Vawny my love I love you, always have always will

Oh, TuLesha, would love to chat with you as well! If not for "second chances," most of us would not be alive today. You have such amazing insight in your writing. The angels may have helped, but I do believe you saved Yawny's life with God's help. Such talent you have! This is one of my favorites! Too often I've seen friends trying to cope with "drinking, depression, suicidal dances."
