Lovely haiku, Dane Ann. I collect the beans in the fall(huge, deep purple with pink markings), just in case they don't seed themselves during the next spring. Some people find scarlet runner beans a nuisance, but I purposefully grow them.

I grew some purposefully for the first time this spring, Chris. I live in the woods and we have a very heavy limb that fell near our garden area. I thought it would look nice used as a trellis...and it is a veggie. Hoping for hummingbirds, too! It's nice to know they are enjoyable. I am looking forward to blooms. Big Smiles
