Sapphic

BRONZE STONE Along the timeless praise of deep Egyptian sands where old men knew, one favored by the gods and when this stone arose the hymns chimed through dusts for sacred bronze Sphinx Trailing here as my eyes danced in full wonder, breaths heaved temporarily in long wisps a part of me somehow ripped when its face spoke traces of Pharaohs’ myth ‘ ‘’’’’ ‘ Written for Craig Cornish's Guzzically Inspired

Howdy Nette. I've read this poem through several times and probably will do so several more times as I compose this review. This is a mesmerizing poem with beautifully constructed words. It places the feet of my mind in the sands of Egypt as I visualize the Sphinx before me. I wait for it to ask me the riddle that allows me to pass but the question never comes. Alas. Thanks for making me think Nette.
