BRONZE STONE
Along the timeless praise of deep Egyptian sands
where old men knew, one favored by the gods
and when this stone arose the hymns chimed through dusts
for sacred bronze Sphinx
Trailing here as my eyes danced in full wonder,
breaths heaved temporarily in long wisps
a part of me somehow ripped when its face spoke
traces of Pharaohs’ myth
