Rozaleah's Song
There is a shadowed stillness in her sadness;
A pale blue promise
Whose time has passed.
She does not dare so fiercely now, the caring -
Reaching instead to Galaxies
Past imagining...
There is a voice beyond sound in the gray mist
Singing its own lament.
She will always stand
Backed against the last wall left;
The rage not quite so red,
But tempered with a passage of time
Spent forgotten
And melting into questions
Of direction...
To find that sheltered place...
To claim her passage
Hard fought within the asylum:
Fifth Planet from a different sun
Of another Empire
In another Star System.
Some of many would call her crazy;
She would call them blind
And refuse to cry
Within her silent self restraints...
Then build a Jadite pryamid to stand upon
And wonder why
Just "why"...
In the living, still dark aftermath
Of fragile pictures etched in rain....
And Rozaleah's song...
