Remembrance

A shiver ran through me, As I walked into the room, You stood there before me, A reminder of something, Hidden in the distant gloom. Suffering and grief, Torture and pain, Chilling scenes from the past, Slowly appeared in my brain. So many empty chairs, Around the table you set, Waiting for the millions, Who we should never forget. Why did you move me so, It’s really hard to say, But the thought of a visit, To an infamous place, Came back to me today.
