Remember When

Remember when life seemed easy
And the dance came so seamless;
Music seemed to pour from the sky
And summer nights were soft and dreamless.

Remember when you and I together
Waltzed step and step in love;
And conflict and rancor were unknown;
We moved together while stars danced above.

Remember when a smile would mend
All the tensions of the working day;
And the sound of your voice harkened joy;
We never thought to censure what to say.

Remember when our memories were sweet
And separation meant only a few hours apart;
Those days have passed, my dear;
What remains is only my broken heart.

Best of luck in the contest, if this is for that contest, Deb. We've all been down this road and made it through Deb. So if this is reality for you, time will heal and a new tomorrow will com. Love, Annalise

This one is very good too, Deb. I feel like you're writing directly to me because memories keep haunting now. The other dance poem has the right form for the contest, dear. Love, Carolyn
