This is an excellently expressed Tanka poem, Barbara, and it was a pleasure to read. We don't often see the Tanka form in poetry these days, since so many writers seem to be consumed with writing their versions of haiku which tend to imply that a haiku can be on any topic, completely ignoring and disregarding the Japanese tradition that a haiku can only be about nature. Your fine Tanka was very well done. Carl.
