Quite a Short Journey

Should be more laughter
It'd be so much better
Smile at your neighbours
An attention getter

Stand up and holler
We're all human beings
Why treat our brethren
With actions so mean

 Just call me a dreamer
And maybe I am
Better than moaning
To beat the band

Don't have any secrets
I'm known to possess
Just like youse guys
Trying hard to impress

It's quite a short journey
Time has sure flown
Before you know it
It's time to go home

A journey too short
Time to pass the baton
Make room for the young'uns
And just mosey on

I do believe that life is shorter than we think, Before we know it it's over. I want Thank you for your compliments on my Avatar. That's how I look after I came back to life from being sick. I'm still not all that well, but I'm getting better. Thanks for sharing this poem... Lucilla

You better stay around... after all DRAGON is part of the next generation... And he needs ALL the help he can get! Really! You're teaching him a whole lot!... if he'll stop to listen... LOL... You know Dragon! When you get done with you're life up there... Dragon says you can come here... He still doesn't get it, does he?... Oh well... what's a ghost ans shade among friends... You make an interesting statement. "Just like youse guys, trying hard to impress". First off, "youse", hilarious. Secondly, the key to "impressing" somebody, is to not try at all. Stay true to you and others who are true, in return, will treat you as such. I used to try that many years ago. But, today, I am me. Whoever doesn't like it, the door is right over there. I'll make sure it doesn't hit them as they leave. You friggin rock, Jack!

I love the advice you have about life, although I have to say, it's not time for you to mosey on just yet my friend! You still have much wisdom to spread to all us "young'uns" Jack! Although I don't feel I'm that young, time has deteriorated some of my life and time has surely passed on by quickly. just like you mentioned! This is a tremendous write my friend! I really enjoyed reading this delightful poem this morning! What a fantastic piece, Great Work!!
