Poe and I

Poe's darkness calls to such as I, an ember, a velvet covered wing chair's grasp on dark nights. I seek the maudlin moan of his December to nurse an aging form and love's lost delights. As Poe has said, "distinctly I remember..." his sweetest kiss and the wound he left in flight. So, by the hearth sit such as I in shadow, Raven in hand by the firelight's ruddy glow.

This poem currently appears on your second page, and has 354 reads. So I'll tweet now and come back tomorrow to see is your read count has changed. I have waited for today, as I don't think my own tweeted haiku would embarrass you to be associated with (unlike my recent haiku series, posted here also).

Today this poem has 390 reads. Tweets seem to generate about 30 reads, so this sits in the average, and that's about what Tweeting is for. Oh. and also a mate of mine has asked for more. His actual words were "loved it. ..keep this coming sir..". Signing up to Twitter is pretty easy, you just follow the instructions if you are interested. But I am always happy to help publicise your poems.

Excellent poem. Looking forward to tweeting. But I think for best results we should wait until I return from this trip. That will be mid next week. So this poem is off to my favs until then. Thank you.

I love this. I used to read Poe to the kids when they were young as bedtime stories. I get a lot of different reactions to that... some good, some bad. The kids however, love to talk about it and it is some of their fondest memories.

Haven't read much Poe, but this makes it sound interesting. The ending is warm and cozy with the fire and all. Great job.
