Petals In the Wind

I stand amid the meadow In my dream the wind roars Within my hand are petals ~ Each one special and unique ~ I let them go in the wind From my hands they go drifting While I weep, weep for them ~ Why did I not hold them tighter ~ These petals in the wind So many of my loved ones O, take my kiss upon your lips ~ Take my love up to your heaven ~ God could I have kept one Just one of the precious petals But, all I have are memories ~ And dreams that I hold within ~ _________________________ November 25, 2012 Poetry/Free Verse/Petals in the Wind Copyright Protected, ID 11-438-346-25 All Rights Reserved, 2012, Constance La France

wonderous and sad at the same time. If we try and cling to our loved ones we destroy those beautiful petals and memories in the process. Leo Bauscalia once said that a single rose could be his garden and one friend could be his world. I may not have his exact words but I do like his message.
