Passing Through
She's an unfinished Lady in the shadows;
Sometimes she does not know the game,
Or the rules of play...
A sleeping princess waiting for her turn
A waking dreamer with no key to fame.
I know her well...
She has my face.
I hold her hands on a twilight patio
And watch stars shooting sparks
With comet tails
That spell her name
Across a Southern sky.
No one sees but She - no one understands.
She knows the Universe
Cannot proclaim reality;
Her reality or Her immortality...
The outward shields -
However insignificant
Are still, by rites around Her heart.
And the sky will fall
Before She...
I know Her well, you see.
