Pact Contest
How many have made a pact when they were young,
Simplicity, impulsively, the joy of thoughtless fun,
How many have agreed to take care of or never let go,
Of a friend, a lover, a memory painted in the powdered snow,
How many have made a promise to never forget,
A moment, a second, and now live in regret,
How many have made a contract and sealed it with blood,
Ignorantly believing it would not produce a rampant flood,
How many, how manys, don’t take seriously what they so freely say,
Spit words of venomous poison into thin air and expect them to fade away.
