Opiate

The opiate seems so appropriate tonight
I love these raw feelings that flood and fill
But without the black water I am empty still
My strength comes from the words that I write

The opiate seems so appropriate tonight
These cravings that corrupt and kill
let my thoughts pour, bleed and spill
My strength comes from the battles that I fight

But sometimes writing and fighting ain’t enough
Try to be somebody different and stay tough
And when you’re hooked to cook as heavy as mud
You gotta’ climb on a boat and ride out the flood

This really hit home with me... you should read my poem Heroin Heroine. And hey- you're right- your strength does come from the words you write, I can see it all over. It is also our battles that give us strength, so YOU keep on keepin' on, too. :)
