Once In a Lifetime
I set here alone and my mind returns to thoughts of her.
The sky outside my window is ebon, and even though the
stars shine with a million pricks of light a blackness grips
my soul.
Only in dreams may i touch her hair and only in dreams may I
breathe in her fragrance and sadly only in dreams may I hold
her in my arms.
I wake and loneliness takes me by the hand and leads me
down a road only to be traveled by one.
Ive trod other roads to find a companion and try and escape this
torture, but all roads lead me back to her.
She is my guide the very reason I take the first step on any journey.
Her warm smile and kind heart is a haven along lifes road that I
would gladly spend the rest of my life within.
It tears at my heart as I near the end of my destination to find the one
thing worth traveling to the ends of the earth for.....unobtainable.
The road to Love is a dead end, there is a bridge,an abyss between
us.
I shout across the chasm,I can see her beautiful face, but she is unable
to hear my words.
How can I cross this gap,how can I make her hear me?
Only she has the power to bridge this life and join these two hearts
together.
